How Lynksen brought a complex B2B platform website to life with Spline
How Lynksen brought a complex B2B platform website to life with Spline
When Elecctro needed a website that could explain their whole business without overwhelming potential customers, Lynksen turned to 3D to build a website that won five awards.
When Elecctro needed a website that could explain their whole business without overwhelming potential customers, Lynksen turned to 3D to build a website that won five awards.

Elecctro builds software systems for unattended services — like vending machines, EV chargers, and car wash automation. Their product ranges from hardware to software and lives in a corner of the market that has historically communicated through dense spec sheets and technical diagrams to B2B buyers. Their mission is to modernize unattended services through smart, connected solutions.
Elecctro needed a website. But not just any website. One that could hold a buyer's attention long enough to actually explain what they do, visually differentiate them from dozens of similar companies, and move visitors toward a decision quickly.
"They needed to convey a lot of information," says Tania, Project Manager at Lynksen, the digital design agency brought in to rebuild the website experience. "But they also wanted to stand out in a very tech-heavy niche."
The answer wasn't more content. It was a different kind of interactive interface entirely.

Elecctro's interactive home experience and product page
A homepage you explore, not just read
A homepage you explore, not just read
Lynksen's core idea was deceptively simple: let users explore the system, instead of explaining it with just words.
The homepage became an interactive 3D scene. A spatial overview of Elecctro's entire product family that users could hover over, click through, and navigate at their own pace. Each asset in the scene is connected to a dedicated product page. The path from "what is this product?" to "I'm ready to talk" collapsed to just a few clicks.

"Users can go to the homepage, see everything, click once, and already move toward giving Elecctro the information they need."

This was a meaningful shift. Most B2B websites treat the homepage as a table of contents. Lynksen built Elecctro's as an environment of something you move through rather than read down.

Why Spline?
The vision was clear, but how do you bring it to life?
Traditional 3D tools were off the table. The learning curve alone would have consumed the project. More importantly, Elecctro's team needed to be able to maintain the site after launch. That meant no black-box pipelines, no dependency on specialized artists, no tools that required months of onboarding just to change an asset.
Lynksen evaluated Spline and saw a different path:
Build and iterate in one environment.
Prototype interactions directly in the tool.
Ship production-ready assets without a complex handoff chain.

"We went from almost no experience to delivering a full project in one try."

What made that possible wasn't just the tooling. It was the community. Before writing a single line of code, the Lynksen team spent time in Spline's community library: exploring remixes, understanding how other designers approached interactions, and identifying techniques they could adapt for this client project.

"Having a place like the Spline Community, with different projects and the ability to remix to see how people approached different interactions was really helpful for us on the educational side."

For Elecctro, there was another factor: longevity.
They wanted a solution their team could actually own after launch.

"You don't need to be too technical to add an object, make a different interaction, and maintain the project after we hand it off. That was a really key benefit for us."

Building the experience
Building the experience
Lynksen's process started with no motion at all.
Static wireframes. Flat UI layouts. A clear information hierarchy established before a single animation was introduced. Only once the structure was solid did the team start adding layers.
"We always start from static, and then add animation layer by layer," says Tania. "We define key states in wireframes and sketches, and during implementation we tweak camera movements, play with animations, and make sure it all comes together as expected."
This discipline kept the project from collapsing under its own ambition. The team maintained a simple design principle: motion supports the narrative.
In practice, this meant:
Subtle hover states and micro-interactions on 3D assets
Scroll-based reveals that guided attention without demanding it
Camera transitions that oriented users rather than dazzled them
Expressive creativity reserved for secondary moments (the footer, the 404 page) where little surprises are a delight rather than a distraction
The 404 page became something of a team favorite. Fully built in Spline, it lets users click around to reveal hidden 3D assets. A small easter egg that most visitors will never find, but that the Lynksen team clearly loved building.
"It's cool to hide a little easter egg," Ross says. "If someone finds it, we'd be super happy as designers."

The site added 20,000 new views and the design community took notice.
Those results reflected something the team had built deliberately: not just a good-looking website, but a genuinely effective one. One that worked for buyers who needed clarity, and for a client team that needed to maintain it without a full-time developer on call.

Ross frames it as a broader shift in how teams can approach 3D: instead of piecing together multiple complex tools and workflows, teams can design, iterate, and ship in a single environment — making interactive 3D feel far more accessible from the start.

Like Lynksen, agencies can leverage Spline to help clients communicate complex products through interactive experiences that are easier to understand, easier to maintain, and more memorable.
For Elecctro, that meant turning a technical B2B platform into an interactive website that clarified the product, accelerated decision-making, and helped the brand stand out in a crowded market.
Whether you’re an agency building for a client or an in-house team, Spline helps moving from idea to production faster — without a complex 3D pipeline or specialized technical skills.
